The Best Of Both Worlds: PWA Examples And Analysis

All in all, the web hasn’t changed much, it might seem. We have websites. social networks, eCommerce stores, and everything in between. But trust us: things were different 10 years back. And one of our favorite “new” inventions is PWA — Progressive Web Application. Today we’ll tell you what those are and list the best PWA examples.
The Best Of Both Worlds: PWA Examples And Analysis
What are PWAs?
In short, PWAs are web apps that work just about anywhere. You don’t even need a constant connection for them to work; load them once, and you’re good to go. Progressive Web Apps can work in the background and are usually pretty speedy. They don’t require much of your machine and represent a middle ground between a website and a separate app. Seamless is the word that comes to mind. Responsive is another one. No wonder businesses love making use of PWAs, which are especially good at leveling the field for users on any platform.
Another huge feature is the fact that PWAs don’t require vetting from Apple or Google and directly bypass app stores.
Are PWAs going away?
A few years ago, we were really excited about the potential of PWAs. There’s so much you can do with them! And yet, you don’t see them that much, at least in the B2C sector. With B2B, it’s a different story.
PWAs and other new web technologies are adaptable and can be used in many various ways. The success of a comparable technology called Electron, too, shows that applications can work on numerous platforms without needing to be rebuilt for each platform. How? A standardized set of behaviors allows us to to stop requiring the code to be rewritten for each platform. This is similar to Java’s success in the past due to its broad base of supported platforms and stable performance.
