Aleks and the team at Beluga Labs were fantastic.
We found Beluga Labs through Elance.com. When I posted the ad for a web-designer and programmer for a business I was starting, I had two important needs that I wanted met. #1 I needed to have an amazing website to stand out from my competition and #2 I needed it to be affordable. (Starting a business is not cheap!). We had many many many applicants. We choose Beluga Labs because they had a great portfolio, they were reasonably priced, and they were very quick, thoughtful and personal with their responses.
I knew what I wanted the website to look like. It was great because Beluga Labs took my vision and laid out a website that was easy to navigate, functional, unique, and appealing to my target market. They were professional, responded very very quickly to my many many requests, were friendly and very patient with me, knowledgeable, relevant, and great to work with. I would definitely recommend them for all your website and design needs.
When the project was done, Aleks called us personally and taught us how to update the blog, calendar, and ecommerce section. He taught us how to update it, change it, navigate it, everything it.
I've used Beluga Labs twice for my company's website needs and have had wonderful experiences both times.
We'd previously been paying an arm and a leg for substandard service that didn't even allow us to make updates to our own site. Yev and the guys at Beluga moved our site over to WordPress to allow us to have more control -- and their price was excellent.
A year later, I went back to Beluga Labs for a second job -- creating a new site from scratch. Yev was ever patient with our indecisiveness and our simultaneous requests for a quick turnaround. We're very happy with what he created for us, especially since I know we were rather difficult to work with.
I definitely recommend Beluga Labs for any website needs. The price is right, responses to emails and calls are always returned promptly, and anyone I've worked with at Beluga has been very courteous and considerate.

My experience with Beluga Labs has been nothing but exceptional. I've turned to them for my own personal small business needs (teanthings.com) but have relied on them time and time again when my internet marketing company needed web design help. Yevgeniy and BelugaLabs are by far the best contract developers I have worked with in my career. From start to finish, the experience working with them to redesign and rebuild our website was outstanding. Here are a few reasons why you want to work with these guys...
1) Quality. All of the design work was super high quality and they did a great job of interpreting our ideas/requests and then producing a really top notch website with a fair amount of complexity. We couldn't be more pleased with the final product.
2) Expertise. We had some very specific requests around SEO and certain functionality that they took on with no problems at all. They were able to advise us on design and structure and were very knowledgeable about all aspects of the project.
3) Responsiveness. Nothing is more frustrating than treading water while you wait to hear back from someone. Right from the start Beluga were on the ball, skype, email, call. These guys were super responsive and very accommodating. They truly felt like an extension of our company and part of the team throughout the project.
4) Feedback. Beluga were open and flexible throughout the whole process and their interpretation of feedback was outstanding. Their ability to take direction and make quick adjustments ensured we met what I thought was a pretty agressive timeline for the project.
5) Reasonable. We all want to work with other reasonable people right? Beluga were extremely accommodating and flexible despite the fact that we threw them more than a few curve balls. They didn't try to nickle and dime us, they just worked with us like reasonable people. And they have a "Can Do" attitude that is hard to find these days. Too often contractors won't do something a certain way because they don't know how or it might take a bit longer, Beluga simply said yes to everything and then went off and executed it.

We used Beluga Labs for our new e-commerce website. The website had some complex features including Business Vision Accounting software integration, safe-guarded pricing, username and password automation and much more. Yev helped us to set this up and even personally came to our office to walk us through the back-end of the website in order for us to modify and change the website on our own without having to write any code. He was professional, and extremely knowledgable when it came to using WooCommerce and Wordpress. We sitill call Yev when we have questions and he always comes through to take care of the problem. Wow, wow and wow!! these guys are as good as you get. I am a tough client to keep happy and I would give these guys 9.5 for design and 10+++ for coding ability. Don't let my 9.5 for design put you off - I would never normally rate anything above 9. My local agency who has some of the very best on their team noted that much of the work achieved was better than they could have done. Everything was easy. Some of my briefs were not all that clear as I wasn't sure of what to do on some pages of my site but Beluga came back with incredible ideas and always executed them as promised and always on time. We would recommend Beluga if
1) You have a very clear idea of what you want from design, to functionality, to animations (Beluga did not provide recommendations but rather we provided mockups/examples/and had to look into best practices for SEO and functionality. They may be able to do this but they didn't do this for our project/budget).
2) You're not looking for a thought partner but just a team to execute on your ideas exactly as specified (again they maybe can do this but we didn't experience this).n 3) You have someone on your team that can dedicate a significant amount of time to lead the project, review iterations, and keep things on track.
3) You're patient and on a budget.n
Aleks as a project manager was incredibly responsive, respectful, and pleasant to work with. The actual turnaround time of iterations were slower than expected at times and we often had to communicate the same request a few different times or had to ask for obvious bugs to be fixed multiple times. Beluga could improve its process flow by adopting a better communication tool to document requests and provide status reports. (We used a shared google document between us, the project manager, and the developers).
My honest review is we are VERY pleased with the end result, it just took more time and effort on our side than we expected. The total project was about 8 months but we are also to blame for the delay because we changed our minds about design ideas late into the game and the Beluga team was always respectable and accomodating.

The overall result is really good and the website looks great. However, we had a small problem with the implementation of preliminary arrangements - the website should be built in Elementor plugin but the designers did it in another Wordpress plugin.

Beluga did a beautiful job on our website. I regularly get compliments on the design, and the credit's all theirs, as all I did was supply a basic wireframe. I've been working with Aleks and the team now for a couple of months and they have been really awesome to work with. We've hit some snags with design and the interactive nature where we had to pivot a couple times, but overall the quality of work is amazing. We still need to finish the coding aspect, but Upwork decided to close out the contract without notifying us. However, the quality and mockups I've seen of the design is top notch and I'd recommend their work in a heartbeat.

Even though some of the design elements were not locked down at the outset of the project and resulted in some minor rework, I never received a change order request to pay an additional sum. Wow, wow and wow!! these guys are as good as you get. I am a tough client to keep happy and I would give these guys 9.5 for design and 10+++ for coding ability. Don't let my 9.5 for design put you off - I would never normally rate anything above 9. My local agency who has some of the very best on their team noted that much of the work achieved was better than they could have done. Everything was easy. Some of my briefs were not all that clear as I wasn't sure of what to do on some pages of my site but Beluga came back with incredible ideas and always executed them as promised and always on time.
